The Honorable Mark A. Manendo
Nevada State Senate Representative
Senator Mark A. Manendo was appointed by the Senate Majority Leader to serve on the Commission. This is his first term, representing Clark County Senatorial District 7.
Manendo was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Chaparral High School and Clark County Community College. He attended the University of Virginia, Darden Executive Business Administration Course for Emerging Political Leaders.
Manendo served in the Nevada Assembly from 1995 to 2009, where he served as Assistant Majority Whip in 2001. He was elected to the Nevada Senate in 2010, and currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, Vice Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee, and as a member of the Transportation Committee and Senate Select Committee on Economic Growth and Employment. Manendo also served as a member of the State Council for the Coordination of the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, on the Advisory Committee for the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, and on the Commission for Special License Plates.
Senator Manendo is the Assistant Director if Client Services for the Collision Authority, and enjoys volunteer activities, basketball, music, and theater.
